D-D have developed a full range of T5 tubes for planted, freshwater, marine and reef aquariums.
D-D were the first on the market in the UK when we brought out our full range of lamps and tubes for planted, marine and reef aquariums around 2002.
In 2005 we started supplying these tubes to Giesemann who now they use them in all of their fixtures and we have now joint branded them in the smart new packaging shown above.
The D-D Aquablue Plus is regarded as the number one bulb for marine and reef aquariums and is exported all over the world. A special 60:40 combination of 6000K and 22000K (approx) phosphor blend.
It is specifically designed for reef aquariums mimicking sea water to a depth of one to twenty meters. It can be used for growing SPS corals up to 80cm in the aquarium.
Compare the deep blue colour and fluorescence that you get from this Actinic Plus tube and you will see why it is our second most popular tube. A special 60:40 combination of deep blue and actinic wavelengths.
It is specifically designed for marine aquariums mimicking deeper water and is recommended to be used with Aquablue Plus tubes.
D-D Pure Actinic T5 bulbs emit a pure actinic spectrum for maximum fluorescence from your corals.
Recommended to be used to compliment Aquablue Plus, Midday 6000 or HQI lighting on marine aquariums with it's pure actinic spectrum.
The D-D Midday 6000 T5 bulbs have full a 5 point colour spectrum and 6000K colour temperature which exactly recreates natural sunlight.
Recommended for salt water, fresh water, reef and fish only aquariums.
This tube is specially designed for Freshwater use. It brings out the blue and red colours in your fish whilst enhancing plant growth.
We recommend the Midday 6000 to be used in conjunction with the Aqua Flora for Freshwater and planted aquariums.
With the higher illumination of planted and reef tanks from T5 lighting, growth is enhanced. However if there is an excess of phosphate the growth rate of unwanted and nuisance algae is likely to accelerate. To solve this problem we recommend that you use Rowaphos which successfully absorbs phosphate and silicate, removing the nutrients which the algae need to feed on without releasing back any of the absorbed materials.
With compact T5's it is not possible to achieve the same amount of luminosity per watt due to its u-bend shape and the dificulty to create an efficient reflector. Our T5 tubes are have been designed straight to achieve maximum light output when used in conjunction with our 'gullwing' reflectors.
