TC2060 no foam after a cup clean

Could you give me a little more detail as i cant quite work out what has
happened.

You installed the skimmer Sunday, it was skimming and now it is not skimming
after you
have cleaned the cup?

If this is the case it was probably due to a change in surface tension due
to the clean cup.
The foam should start to build again with 24 hours.

I take it the pump is producing bubbles but its just the foam thats not
building?

Yes Tony it had bubbles in the main camber but there was none in the neck after cleaning , but it's slowly get back to normal, will it do that after I clean it next time or is it because it was new

Hi David

Yes the new plastics can cause problems with water tension causing the foam to collapse, once the skimmer has been running 7-14days bacterial mulm starts to coat the plastics and they become 'wetted'.

Cleaning the cup will temporarily upset skimming due to a change in water tension but skimming will soon return, this can take 24 hrs or so depending on nutrient loadings but i find my skimmer starts foaming again within an hour after a cup clean.
